Bucks Open Weekend event for children and adults

Writer Steve Katon hosted a creative writing workshop which inspired adults and children to create a story to bring the generations together and reflect on the journey that ordinary people have had on the history of the Paralympic Games.

The history of the Paralympic Games involves stories from our local community, coming together to raise money to support the development of the Games and to give athletes the opportunity to be able to travel in order to compete. There are also stories of the community working together to save the National Spinal Injuries Unit and in 1984, saving the Games themselves.

This story writing workshop was part of the Bucks Open Weekend of events and also the start of our celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of the first ever Paralympic Games.
