We were excited to welcome wheelchair fencer, Justine Moore, to our online Meet the Paralympian event on Friday 23rd June.

Justine Moore, wheelchair fencer, competing at the London 2012 Paralympic Games

Justine spoke to schools and home educated children about what it is like to participate in sport at grass roots level to becoming an elite athlete and competing at the London 2012 Paralympic Games when she was just 20 years old. How a life changing accident at 13 left her unable to walk so she had to adapt her day-to-day life using a wheelchair. Her enjoyment of sport before and after the accident and how she was encouraged to take part in disability sports. Justine's time at a Stoke Mandeville sports camp where she had the opportunity to try out a number of sports and what led her to focus on the sport of wheelchair fencing.

BSL interpreter Marie Biswell joined us for this event.
