We were excited to welcome wheelchair racer, Hannah Cockroft OBE, PLY, DL, to our Meet the Paralympian event on Friday 24th March.

Motivated to train as an athlete whilst taking her bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, Hannah Cockroft has gone on to motivate a whole generation of Paralympic hopefuls. So much so that 'Hurricane Hannah' is now a household name. At this online event, Hannah spoke to students about her race to the top, from the highs of winning at the London 2012 Paralympic Games to the lows of losing world records, and more. Hannah is a 7-time Paralympic gold medallist, competing in London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, and you may have seen her win gold at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In her spare time Hannah is equally active and has made appearances on TV shows such as The Crystal Maze, The Great British Bake Off and Strictly Come Dancing!
